While studying, Emrah, Jose Manuel Garcia and Matt Stallard formed the award-winning jazz trio, International Groove Conspiracy. At the Atlanta Jazz Festival, their electrifying performance led them to sign under the management of the legendary jazz pianist, Ahmad Jamal.Emrah is now collaborating with Jose and Matt along with a handful of other gifted musicians to record his solo project. Emrah's original compositions and arrangements range from soft, melodious ballads to flavorful brews of jazz fusion with a touch of world percussive spice. His debut album, Emrah Kotan, is due for release in Fall 2010. Aside from being one of Atlanta's most eclectic and crowd-pleasing drummers, Emrah is an educator and Director of the Jazz and World Percussion Ensembles at Agnes Scott College.
